Episode 59 - Restorative Parenting: Restorative Justice in Parenting
Host Kayla Craig and co-hosts Lindsy Wallace and Alissa Molina welcome Sara Stockinger to this episode of restorative justice in parenting.
Sara is a special education teacher who works with families of kids from birth to age three with developmental delays in a home visiting model. Prior to that, she was an elementary classroom teacher for over a decade. She and her husband have three kids through foster care adoption and refugee resettlement. She’s passionate about learning to listen closely to build a better community and figuring out how to use her privilege to advocate for social justice. She also really, really loves reading and chickens and Earl Grey tea.
In this episode, we:
- Define restorative justice and how can it practically be applied in parenting
- Unpack the faith to justice relationship
- Discuss modeling our parenting against Jesus’ life
- Explore how we can apply a more nuanced and intentionally upside-down approach to our families
Join us as we open the dialogue of parenting with the goal of restorative justice. May we be people who work through the brokenness and woundedness within relationships and allow it to grow into empathy and service to each other.
